I just got the recent news that another one of my photos made it on the cover of The Austin Bride Magazine. They just debut it at the Austin Bridal Convention and it looks amazing. Thanks to the bride and groom for looking so good and The Trois Estate for providing such a great looking location and also thanks to Texas Wedding Mall for picking my photo to be on the cover!!!
I have been working hard on putting together a whole new section to Helo Photography and now I have Helo Films. We will specialize in short wedding films that captures your big day in a happy upbeat way. My first film was Jason + Mallory at the amazing Trois Estate at Enchanted Rock in Fredericksburg, Tx. These two were a very easy couple to work and were SOO very in love. The film is shown at full 1080i HD so please let it fully download before playing or it might be a little choppy. Grab some popcorn and enjoy the show!!!
I met these two through my friends over at The Trois Estate at Enchanted Rock and they really seem to enjoy everything country. So we decided to head on over to the famous Floores Country Store in Helotes Tx to shoot engagement photos because this is where these two lovely people met during a concert. The story goes like this…Boy sees girl, girl is already with GREAT BIG GUY, Boy is scared to talk to girl, GREAT BIG GUY ends up being her brother, Boy and Girl fall in love…Shannan has such a great big heart and Theron is cool calm country singer who enjoys a good laugh. These two made the photoshoot so easy on me and it definitely shows on screen how in love these two really are. Look out for the BLOG update on Shannans Bridals plus their big wedding day is around the corner. And if any BBQ lovers get a chance to head on over to Floores Country Store they got some killer brisket…
I have been a little slow about blogging and updating on all my weddings these last few months, but its all been for good reasons. There is a lot of changes happening right now and I have been focusing on other projects in my life. In the next few months we should be adding a whole new video section to Helo Photography. Also, The Trois Estate at Enchanted Rock in Fredericksburg, Tx will have a completely re-done webiste in the next 30-45 days. Now, this particular wedding at The Trois Estate was a great because the bride and groom both had good personality and always did some funky pose to make for amazing photos. They did what every couple should do before a wedding in my opinion which is a first look session. This is where the bride and groom see each other before the ceremony for photos and it always turns out great. As you can see from his reaction, he was VERY happy!!! These were just a few of many that looked amazing. Hope you all enjoy.
The wonderful SA Bride Magazine has picked one of my photos for their New Cover Shot. This was a wedding I blogged about a few months ago (Philip + Elizabeth) !!! They were an laid back couple with amazing style and were lots of fun to work with. The magazine will be premiering at the SA Bridal Convention this Sunday May 15!!! Come and see us!!!
This wedding was held in 2010 and was the biggest baddest wedding of the year! They had rain and rainbows, kids that cried and kids that danced, outdoor courtyard and the Safari room, peacock feathers and butterflies, lucha libre and sparklers, I mean it was huge! This was also the first wedding to book the new LODGE at the Trois Estate. (we will post a blog all about the new LODGE very soon) The day started off great, but with dark clouds in the distance it was only time before a storm came rolling in and with the ceremony being held outside, it got messy. Luckily, God used his powers and cleared the skies in about 10 minutes and gave us the most magical rainbow ever! Thanks to Bud and Michelle for putting so much time and effort to create such a great wedding!
Here’s some of my favorite images from a recent wedding at the fabulous Trois Estate. These two had photography on the top of their priority list, so I made sure to give them plenty of great images to choose from. I loved this brides vintage look and the grooms laid back personality. Heres is just a handful of images from their day!
This wedding started early in the morning and ended with a splash! There was great music, a lot of exciting moments, and bagpiper who was amazing. I loved the bride’s bright red gloves and her spontaneous personality. Brad and Heather were a loving couple and it was a joy to photograph their wedding. I know I wont forget this day anytime soon!
I recently found out that my photograph made the front cover of Austin Bride Magazine! That’s the most exciting news I have heard all year and just in time because Helo Photography will have a expo booth along with The Trois Estate at the next Austin Bridal Expo November 7th. Thank you to all the staff at Texas Wedding Mall! Hopefully we can get some more covers in the future. Here is the link to the magazine if any of you are interested in taking a closer look http://austin.txweddingmall.com/magazine/
Ok, so I had the wonderful privilege to photograph a very small but amazing wedding in Hawaii. (Honolulu to be exact) This was my first time traveling to and shooting a Hawaii wedding, so of course I had nightmares of my camera gear getting ruined and destroyed due to salt and sand. Luckily for me, my nightmares never came true. As for Hawaii itself, all I can say is “wow!’ The beaches were nice, the water was clear, the weather was perfect, and the food was good. Even though I had work to do, it felt like a vacation the whole time there. My girlfriend and I stopped at the Dole plantation, jumped off a huge rock straight into the ocean, went to a Luau and drank fresh coconut milk right out of the shell. What can I say, we were there for 5 days! So, I have known Jennifer for sometime now (since she is my girlfriend’s sister) and its nice to know she is happy with her new family. They both love each other so much and it shows in all the photos!!! This set of pictures begins with their engagement session in Bandera tx, and ends with the wedding in Hawaii. ENJOY!
The night before the wedding, the family started things off with a mean BBQ which featured some finger licking ribs, smoked beans, and a whole hog, all of which was made by the family. I know what good BBQ tastes like and theirs definitely did not disappoint! The Casas Family was full of personality and class. It was great working with all of them and I’m really glad they chose me as their photographer as they made for some great photographs. These two really love each other and I know it will last forever. The wedding was at the amazing Trois Estate and another knock out ceremony down in the chapel. I hope you all love the photos as much as I do.
I posted a blog a while back on Tom + Lisa and since Lisa is one of my good friends and a fellow employee at The Trois Estate, I told her I would shoot some video at her wedding along with being the photographer. For the most part I do not recommend trying to shoot photo and video at a wedding, but if you have the equipment and knowledge then why not. So here is the premiere to my first ever video slideshow.
What a handsome bunch? Pookie and Chuy are best friends and I finally photographed them for the first time. These two are my girlfriend’s dogs and the time seemed right so I busted out the old nikon. It was a rather quick shoot because the sun was going down and they were a little camera shy. Chuy is 15 years old, but with his energy you’d never know it. Pookie was the most afraid of the camera but his smile made up for it. I plan to take some more photos of the two in the future.
A few days ago I had the opportunity to photograph a very special dog. He was a black lab that was being fostered by a loving family who has taken their time out to help with a great program called the Administration Security Transportation Explosives Detection Canine Team Breeding Program (at least that’s what it says on his patch). Basically it’s for canines that will become bomb sniffing dogs which soldiers can rely on. He was such a fun dog (very photogenic) and I know he’ll do a great job helping out the troops. Here are a few of my favorites from the shoot..
